A Few Exciting Updates

I’m thrilled to share that Elevated Menopause Care is growing!

What started as a small side practice last December has received such an incredible response that I’m expanding. In addition to expert menopause and midlife care, I’m now offering comprehensive, office-based gynecologic services—and Elevated Menopause Care is officially my full-time practice.

After more than a decade in traditional systems, I felt weighed down by the constant template changes, shorter and shorter visits, endless charting, and pressure to meet metrics that don’t always reflect what’s best for patients. I still loved caring for women, but much of the joy had faded.

This past year has changed everything. Practicing without time pressures or insurance restrictions has renewed my love for medicine. Even better, I get to do this alongside one of my best friends, Dr. Jennifer Gray, and the most handsome Dr. Mendoza at Elevated Direct Primary Care.

✨ And starting in December, I’ll also begin seeing Kaiser patients!

Why Direct Care Works

Direct care means:

Membership Option

For $150/month, you’ll have unlimited access to both office-based gynecologic and menopause care, along with the ability to text me directly with questions between visits. Think of it as having a trusted gynecologist in your corner for both urgent needs and long-term health planning.

Too often, women are left in this gap—healthy after childbirth, but then suddenly facing midlife with all its joys and challenges: heavy or irregular periods, hormonal shifts, contraception after divorce, or the onset of menopause symptoms. I love gynecology, and I believe women deserve a place where these concerns are addressed with expertise, personalized care, and no insurance hoops.

💡 Important note: Pricing for menopause-only care is not changing. The membership is simply an option for those who want more comprehensive, ongoing support.

Patient Story

Here’s an example of what inspired me to add gynecologic care to my direct care micro practice: one of my husband’s direct primary care patients had an urgent gynecologic concern and called the same OB/GYN office where she delivered her daughter four years ago. Because she hadn’t been seen in over three years, she was told she’d need to reestablish care—and the next available appointment was three months out. She was directed to urgent care instead (where the average visit can run $200–$300 or more).

Fortunately, she reached out to her DPC doctor first, and I was able to see her the very next morning. Not only did we manage the acute issue and avoid the unnecessary urgent care cost, but I also helped her start a treatment plan for heavy periods and pain she had struggled with for years. Within a single visit, she finally had a diagnosis of endometriosis and a path forward.

Mendoza Girls are Back in School

School looks a little different for us this year. Molly, my oldest, made a very last-minute transition her 8th grade year online through Adams 12 Online Schools. We’re hopeful this format will ease some of the anxiety middle school can bring while giving her more space to focus on her competitive dance season—something she’s more excited about than ever.

Gabby is in 4th grade and absolutely thrilled to be back (though admittedly a little grumpy after a summer full of camping and sleeping in). She’s currently hyper-focused on her teacher’s “40 Book Challenge” and already plotting her reading list.

And then there’s my baby Charlie, who starts pre-K tomorrow. Her biggest decision? Which Disney princess dress will make the cut for her first day.

These girls are my whole world. Three kids at three different schools is no joke!

My recent decision to resign from my generalist job at Kaiser after 11 years was far from easy. Career goals—pivoting to a model of care I believe in and growing a private practice with my husband—played a big role. But the real reason? My girls. They’re growing so fast, and I want to be emotionally and physically present for the day-to-day moments. I’m already learning that the teenage years may be the time they need a fully present mom the most.
