One year in — and fully in it

Hello friends,

It’s been a while since my last newsletter — September, to be exact — and a lot has happened since then.

January 2, 2025 marked a quiet but meaningful milestone for me — the day I saw my very first patient, virtually, from my home office. This month, that moment officially turned into a full year: Elevated Menopause Care just turned one .

I’m also now one month fully full-time in my own practice. Over winter break, for the first time in my medical career, I was not on call at all while my kids were home from school — an experience that reinforced why I believe so deeply in this work.

A few updates from the clinic

• Pricing: As of the new year, pricing has increased modestly to better reflect the depth of care, clinical expertise, and full scope of services I provide — and to support the sustainability of this care model.
– All 2025 enrollees are grandfathered at their current pricing through at least this year
– Current members will never have a price increase

Transparency and trust are foundational to how I practice.

• Resources, scheduling & communication: You’ll always find the most up-to-date information on my website — including how to reach me, pricing, services, and what to expect. I also offer online scheduling, so getting on my calendar doesn’t require back-and-forth emails.
I provide a detailed handout at the first visit that many patients keep and refer back to. Because it’s an evolving resource, the newest version is always available on my website under Handouts. More free resources on many midlife topics are coming soon (I hope!).

• Why the name changed: You may have noticed that my practice name now reflects Direct Gynecology, not menopause care alone. While perimenopause, menopause, and sexual health remain a central focus of my work, I also provide full-scope gynecologic care — all outside of insurance. This allows me to care for patients comprehensively, across life stages, without fragmenting care or handing pieces off to different systems.

• Surgical care through direct specialty access: I now operate with Smith Medical, which allows me to continue caring for my patients when surgical needs arise. For patients who are uninsured or have high-deductible plans especially, this can mean significantly lower costs, faster access, and care that stays coordinated with me — rather than being handed off to a disconnected system.

WHY DIRECT CARE MATTERS TO ME

I believe deeply in direct, relationship-based care — care where appointments aren’t rushed, questions are welcomed, and decisions are made together.

It also means access — you don’t have to wait three months to see a gynecologist for a 15-minute appointment.

One year in, I’m more convinced than ever that this model allows better medicine — not just more personalized care, but more thoughtful care.

Upcoming events

Menopause Matters! — January 22 at Colorado Tap House (Arvada)
I’m co-hosting a 2-hour, in-person menopause workshop focused on education, myth-busting, and practical next steps. We’ll cover topics like hormone therapy, weight changes, bladder leakage, and common menopause symptoms — with plenty of time for Q&A.
Your first drink is included, and the goal is simple: clear, evidence-based information in a relaxed, community setting.

The Intentional Pause — February 7–March 7
I’m honored to be joining The Intentional Pause, a 5-week, in-person midlife experience created by my colleague and friend, Chrissy Chard, PhD. This small-group program is designed for women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and midlife transitions who want to slow down, understand what’s happening in their bodies and nervous systems, and move forward with clarity and self-trust.

I’ll be joining as a guest expert to lead a dedicated session on menopause care, hormone therapy options, navigating healthcare conversations, and advocating for yourself within a system that too often dismisses midlife symptoms.

Chrissy is a grounded, deeply thoughtful educator, and I trust the way she holds space — which is exactly why I’m excited to be part of this work and to learn alongside the women in my community.

Something new I’m building

I’ve been approached several times about creating educational resources for both midlife women and health professionals.

So I’m building exactly that.

The first offering will be a 6-module, audio-only resource designed for real life — something you can listen to while driving, folding laundry, walking, or multitasking the way most of us already do.

Each module will include:
• Short, focused audio lessons
• A simple PDF summary
• Space to reflect on what’s relevant to you

And yes — a therapist-focused course is next, designed to help mental health professionals better understand the physiologic realities of perimenopause and menopause and more confidently support midlife clients.

Thank you — truly — for being part of this first year. Whether you’re a patient, a colleague, a friend, or someone quietly reading along, I’m grateful you’re here.

Warmly,
Jordan

PS: I genuinely want to hear from you. What would improve your experience with this practice? Would you be interested in a book club, more free resources on big topics, a talk, a walk-with-a-doc, or something else entirely? Just email me (jmendoza@dpcelevated.com) and let me know your ideas — this practice is meant to grow with the people it serves.
